Do most of us knew about the Somali Pirates? May be we saw on the new the pirates hijacking the foreign ships.But do we know what draws those people to became pirates?i believe that every thing start with reason because being pirates is not good idea and no one want to interrupt the foreign ships.the reasons that made them to became pirates are illegal fishing, dumping of toxic waste, every thing they had was being taking away they fisherman in Somalia tried to stop the trawlers fishing in their water but they couldn't.imagine a father in Somalia who tries to feed his family and the food he bringing home is poisoned fish. the industries use to hire the fisherman stopped working after they found died fishes. people who lived near the sea found skin diseases respiratory infections they get after they eat poisoned fishes. and the people organized them selves to attack those ships and later turned into pirates.
In her post Ayan writes that the reason why pirates hijack ships is because of trawlers fishing illegally. To some point i agree with her on that point but i dont think that's the only reason. I think many of the pirates are drawn by the money and are using the same argument ayan is putting forward as an excuse. Correcting a wrong doing with another wrong doing does not make it right. If what the trawlers are doing is illegal so is kidnaping people and demanding money for their release. If it was up to me i would take all the fish in that trawler and let them go. What the pirates are doing is illegal and there should be no excuse for it.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Ayan, that everything start with reasons. For explain waking up in morning to go to school or work is hard thing to do but, we wake up every morning so that we can make our life easy. But also know that is personal choice. Those Pirates made the choice to be Pirates. For that we should not give excuse for their wrong acts. For that I believe that they do not have any reasons at all!
